Rights and Responsibilities

We all have the right

to be treated with respect
and so should consider other people's feelings
and not make them feel foolish or push them around.....

to feel safe
and so have the responsibility to report and bullying.....

to feel that we belong
and therefore must not make others feel left out.....

to work to the best of our ability
and so must try hard and complete tasks on time.....

to be told when we are doing well
and so should encourage others when they do well
     and not call them names.....

to be listened to
and so should listen to others and not talk out of turn.....

to be accepted for ourselves
and so have the responsibility to treat others as individuals
and accept that we are all different.....

Our approach to student behaviour is based on the "Shared Values" document drawn up by the staff, pupils and parents of Nether Stowe High School. We expect the highest standards of behaviour from our students and value the support given by parents to the Behaviour Policy. Accepting a place at Nether Stowe requires an acceptance of this policy (the full policy is available on request).

Each student has a responsibility to ensure that his/her own behaviour does not undermine the rights of other students in the school.
