We are a school proud of our inclusive ethos and warm welcome. Above all, we are a supportive community where every pupil and adult is cared for. At the heart of the vision and values of the school is a highly ambitious and aspirational focus on academic excellence, enabling every pupil to succeed and thrive. We develop and nurture individual talent to create kind, ambitious, selfconfident, resourceful and resilient young people who are proud to contribute to their school and the local community and who are ready to face the challenges of the modern world. Traditional values of strong discipline, good behaviour and respect are also core to our ethos: we challenge, support and inspire everyone to be the absolute best they can be.
Glyn Langston-Jones Headteacher
The PE department consists of five full-time members of staff who show outstanding dedication to the students they teach. We have an extensive extra-curricular programme in which students are able to improve their skills, learn moral skills such as teamwork and, above all, enjoy sport. The staff within the department boast expertise in a range of sporting areas providing students with quality experiences and an opportunity to undertake new sports.
We participate in over 120 fixtures a year, locally and nationally and we are able to offer students opportunities to represent Nether Stowe in a range of sports. This results in positive relationships being made and students stepping out of their comfort zones. We are a very strong department who work together to ensure that we maximise learning time, give students unique sorting opportunities and we ensure that students enjoy PE lessons. Students are able to take PE all the way through to Year 13 with the opportunities of GCSE PE, Cambridge National Sport Studies and A Level PE with excellent levels of retention
