Emphasis on Inclusion Students wit Special Educational Needs (SEN) are fully included in the life of the school. In-class support is provided where appropriate. Students with identified learning difficulties are withdrawn from some lessons in order to follow individual learning programmes designed to address their needs. All students with a learning support programme are monitored closely by the school's Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, the Assistant Head for Inclusion and Enrichment and a designated Learning Mentor. The school works closely with the County Educational Psychologist Service, Connexions, Special Educational Needs Support Services and other agencies in order to offer students and their parents access to sound professional advice. The SEN policy reflects the Code of Practice for Special Educational Needs. |
